SIGNS OF THE LAST DAYS
The pandemic, racial riots in the streets, vaccine mandates, a contested USA election, the Ukraine crisis, runaway inflation, and threats of nuclear war; in the past years, these events have hit the world like a flurry of punches from Mike Tyson. It has made many people ask: “Is Jesus trying to tell us something? Is this the beginning of the end?”
Not surprisingly, pastors have been asking themselves the same questions. In a 2020 Lifeway Survey, almost 9 in 10 pastors stated that they believed at least some of the current events listed above match those Jesus said would occur shortly before his return to Earth – events that Matt 24:8 calls the Beginning of The Birth Pangs. And in that same survey, 56% of Pastors stated they now believe that Jesus will return in their lifetimes.
Many mainstream Christian parachurch organizations like Focus on the Family have begun including webpages on their ministry sites instructing their followers on how to prepare for the end times. The most conservative corners of Christianity now think we may be in the early stages of the Last Days. But other than a few rudimentary ideas on a couple websites, there hasn’t been an organized approach about how to get the 2 billion Christians on Planet Earth ready for the most important day in history – the day that Jesus comes back. In fact, there is even debate about whether or not we need to do anything special to get ready.
